The trust is carrying out two major capital development projects at their main Musgrove Park Hospital with a new surgical centre and acute assessment hub to be constructed, with a much larger £450 million upgrade planned for the middle of the decade. David will discuss the two year project, and how it will ensure the trust can continue to provide world class care. East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust – Finbarr Murray, Managing Director 2gether Support Solutions are a wholly owned subsidiary of East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. With a turnover of £100 million and 1,300 staff they aim to secure strong core facilities and support services for the long term. Finbarr will outline their approach to estates development and management, and the upcoming projects they are working on NHS Property Services – Aahsan Rahman, Head of Town Planning NHS Property Services is a government-owned company which exists to help the NHS get the most from its estate, so that healthcare professionals can focus on delivering excellent patient care. Its portfolio more than 3,000 properties with 7,000 tenants across England, with a total value of more than £3bn. Willmott Dixon – Anastasia Chrysafi, National Account Manager, Health Willmott Dixon has developed a suite of pre-designed healthcare products. Cura is a primary and community health and care facility which responds to the NHS Transformation Agenda. The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust – Sunil Vyas, Director of Projects and Estates Sunil manages the Royal Marsden NHS Trust estate across two major hospital sites and is involved in the improvements to the London Cancer Hub – a new 134,000 sq ft building, costing £50 million that will be a global centre for cancer innovation. The project as a whole will create 7,000 permanent life sciences jobs and another 6,200 during construction and Sunil will discuss the innovation and design needs for future projects of this scale. I have been leading the architectural team for the 19,000m2 Circle Birmingham Hospital and Rehabilitation project, having been involved in the design from conception, contributing to the improvement in quality of the internal spaces for patients, staff and visitors. I have primarily focused on the refining the internal layout of the hospital, through the ongoing engagement of the stakeholders and user groups from existing Circle hospitals.
