This online event is part of a new series on the future of the construction industry which are taking place over the next 12 months, and will explore the next big trends, innovations and challenges the industry needs to prepare for.

By 2030, 60% of the world’s population will be urban. This will create a real need for new and innovative transport systems as traditional transport and infrastructure becomes increasingly congested. Providing safe, convenient and sustainable solution utilising the airspace above our cities could be part of the solution. As well as the development of suitable vehicles, a significant investment in infrastructure will be required to bring Urban Air Mobility to communities around the world

This online event will explore the work being putting into making urban air mobility, a sector forecasted to be worth nearly £1.2 trillion over the next 20 years a reality.

  • Six Miles Across London (SMALL) – is committed to solving the challenges our cities, planet and population faces today and in the future. Ricky and his team are committed to making Urban Air Mobility a reality and have partnered with Hyundai Air Mobility, Cambridge Science Park and others to create an Urban Air Mobility ecosystem in the UK and around the world.
  • ICF – Yann Cambier is a renowned expert on Urban Air Mobility and eVTOL and the opportunities they present. He will provide some thought leadership on the potential for the use of the technology to deliver people and cargo from airports to points around cities – something there is great potential for in London and elsewhere. He will discuss how this would both revolutionise travel and provide jobs and revenue for the related supply chain.
  • NASA – Over the past five years NASA has been laying the groundwork to overcome the difficulties that Urban Air Mobility technology presents and have been building the infrastructure needed for unmanned aircraft to detect and avoid obstacles while aloft. They are working in partnership with a number of companies, including Uber, to develop technology that will make Urban Air Mobility a reality. Shivanjli is one of the leaders behind a national campaign to promote public confidence and accelerate the realisation of the technology for passenger and cargo transport urban, suburban, rural, and regional environments.
