Future Development Plans – Devon; Sponsored by Aico

This webinar will delve into the potential development, regeneration and investment opportunities which are emerging across Devon.

There are huge plans for the county of Devon, with thousands of new homes set to be built over the coming decades. Local Plans across the county allocate 17,200 new homes to be built in North Devon and Torridge, 26,700 new homes across the South Hams, West Devon and Plymouth, while 11,000 new homes are planned in the Liveable Exeter vision, and a further 7,860 in Mid Devon, plus more in East Devon and Teignbrige.

In this webinar we will delve into some of these exciting housing plans, the job creation projects that come with such growth and look into specifics surrounding a number of forthcoming projects, procurement opportunities and upcoming investment.

  • Exeter City Council – have massive plans for a new garden city. Named Liveable Exeter, approximately 11,000 homes will form part of the garden city over 8 key sites to be developed over the next 20 years. Richard will give more details on these exciting plans as well as updating on the progress of the £300 million CityPoint regeneration scheme in Exeter.
  • Plymouth City Council – Plymouth was declared a £1 billion city in 2019 with a vast array of multi million pound projects in the pipeline. The latest projects to be brought forward include £385million worth of investment planned in the city centre, predicted to support 5,000 construction jobs and result in 1,000 permanent new jobs. Anthony will give more intel on these schemes including the regeneration of Plymouth’s towering former Civic Centre and nearby Guildhall.
  • Aster Group – The Aster Group has a build programme delivering an average of 1000 affordable homes per year over the South East and South West of England and are investing £2bn into homes over the next seven years. The group’s market sale delivery has also been strengthened through its joint venture partnership with the Vistry Group. Jane will give more intel on Aster’s future plans to increase their land portfolio and their latest schemes across Devon.
  • YG Developments Limited YG Developmentslatest project in Devon will be an ‘enabling development’ to the Torquay Pavilion, a Grade 2 listed building. Set to consist of around 50 apartments, and 1000sqm of commercial space the £16m building will commence construction in 2022. Kristi will join the session to give more intel on the scheme as well as looking forward to future developments in the pipeline in the South West of England.
  • HomeLINK – Luke founded HomeLINK in 2017 with the aim of becoming the leading IoT platform for social and private landlords. HomeLINK continuously monitors the health of properties to provide actionable insights based on machine learning to enable better services and reduce costs. The company was acquired by Aico in July 2020 and is now part of EI Electronics. Aico are the market leader in fire and CO protection solutions for Social Landlords. Luke will be chairing the session and posing questions to our speakers throughout the event.
