They are planning a new 645,000 square foot development at their Aldermaston facility in Berkshire. It will incorporate new laboratories, offices, meeting rooms, education facilities and a logistics store, as well as a gym, library, medical facilities, photography studios and more. The project will take between 30 and 36 months and will require the demolition of 75 other buildings on the AWE site. As part of this this plan it has announced the construction of four new prisons to be built over the next six years in Yorkshire, the North-West and two in the South-East. Sue will discuss how the prisons will incorporate modern construction method and, cutting edge digital infrastructure, and will be built by a range of companies around the country and assembled on-site ensuring the economic benefits of the investment will reach firms across the country.
