West London Alliance – David Francis, Director In September the 7 West London Alliance Boroughs published a bold and ambitious ‘Build and Recover’ Strategy, outlining West London’s plan for economic recovery across the sub-region. The strategy focusses on the 7 themes of: growth sectors, aviation communities, skills and employment, entrepreneurs and micro businesses, green recovery, town centres and housing and infrastructure. West London Council Leaders are determined to drive economic recovery to limit the colossal damage caused by Coronavirus across the sub-region’s communities and businesses, especially those that rely on the aviation industry. Berkeley Homes – Caroline McHardy, Land and Development Director Berkeley Homes are planning for up to 1,300 new homes on the old Horlicks factory site in Slough. They will demolish part of the site to build five apartment blocks, while retaining the factory’s chimney and clock tower. The development will include 25% affordable homes as well as shops, restaurants and a nursery. SEGRO – Neil Impiazzi, Partnership Development Director Segro are the largest owner of industrial and warehouse space in the Heathrow area, including the Heathrow Cargo Centre with their portfolio located in Hounslow, Hillingdon and Slough. We will hear more details from Neil about Segro’s major developments in the Heathrow area as they look to invest in other London boroughs surrounding the airport. Muse – Chris Scott, Development Director Muse are part of the JV which will deliver the North West Quadrant in Slough, bringing forward plans to provide 1,400 homes across a range of tenures, more than 250,000 sq ft of commercial space, 45,000 sq ft of ancillary leisure and retail, alongside 150,000 sq ft of cultural facilities. Places for People – Tom Murkherjee-Neale, Project Director Tom will give us more details on Egham Gateway West, a Places for People development in partnership with the council as part of the wider £200 million Runnymede Regeneration Programme. The development includes 100 homes, a student accommodation block which will have 100 ‘study bedrooms’ and a new 4 screen Everyman Cinema.
