Knowsley Council – Tony Clark, Assistant Executive Director Development and Infrastructure Knowsley Council have recently entered into a joint venture with Genr8 Kajima for Huyton’s Town centre redevelopment. The Council has ambitious plans for Huyton and its progressing it’s 10-year development plan, including the creation of a commercial district, that will contain the Council’s new HQ, a hotel, commercial and residential accommodation; as well as a village green and significant improvements to the high street and station gateway area. The plan outlines the potential for approximately 1,700 jobs and a £50.8m boost to the local economy. Fusion21 – Sarah Maguire, Social Value Manager Having recently created a new procurement partnership based on social value with Knowsley council. The scheme will encourage developers who are to deliver large scale future projects to focus on giving back to the communities they operate in while any council related regeneration work will favour supply chain who have a strong social value ethos. Sarah will join this session to unpick future procurement opportunities and to encourage best practice in the realm of social value when bidding for work. Bellway Homes – David Williams, Managing Director (North West) Bellway are one of the most active housebuilders in the North West with dozens of sites set to be brought forward in 2021 and a high concentration of them to be positioned in and around Knowsley. The council see them as a key strategic partner in meeting ambitious housing targets. David will talk about what is coming up for them and the impact their development pipeline will have on Knowsley. Knowsley Council – Rachel Peak, Principal Regeneration Officer for Kirkby Town Centre Kirby is one of the towns in the Liverpool City region that will undergo major transformation in the coming years and as part of the event Rachel she will talk about the 55 acre residential plans south of Cherryfield Drive, a development of a cinema on the site of the former library and the early stages of major investment in changing the gateway to Kirby site. Knowsley Council – Nathan Renison, Principal Regeneration Manager for Huyton Town Centre Overseeing the ambitious and exciting decade long regeneration plans for Huyton Town Centre, Nathan joins the panel to talk about how the council are pouring millions of pounds into unlocking the expansion of the commercial district, the creation of a health and innovation hub next to the train station and to create a green village to meet the borough’s sustainability targets. Knowsley Council – Gill Whitfield, Principal Regeneration Officer Gill is at the forefront of working with developers and investors who will be bringing forward schemes in the borough in the coming 18 months and is going to provide our audience with invaluable market intelligence about which schemes are close to coming to market. Knowsley Council – Owen Barton, Principal Regeneration Manager for Prescot Town Centre Anchored by the £30m Shakespeare North Playhouse, Prescot town centre is in the process of successfully repositioning itself as a leisure and culture destination. This has been supported through heritage-led regeneration including the Townscape Heritage Initiative, High Streets Heritage Action Zone and Prescot Connects public realm improvements.
