From Design to Construction: How Local Authorities Can Achieve Net Zero Carbon; Sponsored by Wokingham Borough Council

Wednesday, 24th March 2021 1150hrs – 1350hrs

This free to attend online event is hosted by Wokingham Borough Council – a Unitary local authority in Berkshire, South East England, with our delivery partners RCDC, HLM Architects, Faithful & Gould and Reds10 – and is the second in a series.

In the first webinar just before Christmas 2020 we presented the journey from the very beginning through to defining and shaping policies and strategies, up to the point of stage 3 design development.

In this second webinar we’ll continue our journey towards delivering a net zero carbon facility, the first in the Borough, delivered by the Council. Starting where we left off last time and sharing experiences and challenges during the implementation and construction stages. We will be joined by a broad range of panellists from strategy, delivery and the technical side as well as the consultant team and the contractor – who’ll be sharing their experiences, their approach to problem resolution, and best practice for mutual advantage.

With years of expertise in a variety of areas and sectors, our panel are well positioned to give a diverse and ‘cover all bases’ overview on how to deliver a net zero carbon facility – and the audience will have the opportunity to put their questions forward.

Since the council’s declaration in July 2019, Gregor has been leading the council’s work on tackling climate change which includes a variety of exciting projects including a green bank, solar farms, the borough first net-zero carbon building and more.
