Solving the Housing Crisis in the North West

With the North West being one of the most populous regions in the UK and with its population set to grow exponentially over the coming decades, the need for more housing has never been more urgent.

• MCI Developments – with a pipeline of over 700 homes due to be built over 3 different sites in the North West, MCI Developments look set to be major players in the region’s housebuilding over the coming years. Bill will reveal more about MCI’s plans in the region including their plans for affordable and shared ownership housing which accounts for nearly half the housing over their 3 North West developments.

• First Choice Homes Oldham – want to demolish two tower blocks and bring forward 90 affordable homes off Vale Drive east of Oldham town centre, as part of plans to invest £160m to build 850 homes in the town over the next six years. Heidi will go into more detail about their plans and how they can help tackle the housing crisis in the North West.

• Onward Homes – Onward are ready to answer the call and the needs of the communities in the North West. They are aiming to start on-site this year with developments that will deliver over 1,000 homes, bringing affordable residences and choice. These properties will be for affordable rent, Shared Ownership, and out-right sale in mixed communities. Sandy will give us more details about these schemes and how they will help tackle the housing crisis in the North West.
