The National Housing Federation is supporting the project and the UK BIM Alliance has adopted the project, which has participation of several of its active members. Jack will discuss how they are implementing it at the Southern Housing Group across their pipeline of over 300 homes and how the client can achieve ‘the golden thread.’ Winvic Construction – Morgan Hambling, VR Developer Winvic Construction, contractor for industrial, build-to-rent, student accommodation and commercial projects launched its Centre for Innovative Construction (CIC) in 2019. Known as “The CAVE”, the centre is set up with a VR headset enabling the user to do a 4D walkthrough of their projects. Morgan will reveal more about Winvic’s innovative construction technology and their plans to use it going forward with clients like logistics developer Mountpark. The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) – Susan Hone-Brookes, Chief Engineer for Construction, Infrastructure and Energy Susan is the Chief Engineer for Construction at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). Working in partnership with government, industry, academia and recognised institutions, Susan is developing and proving out innovative manufacturing and digital processes for adoption and take up by the UK Construction Industry. Susan will give more intel on the future of ConTech in the UK and how it can be adopted in the wider industry. Arcadis – Ben Senior, Partner, Head for Digital Buildings Planning and executing large-scale infrastructure, social and commercial developments grows more complex by the day. Bringing together multiple professional disciplines and managing the communications process is demanding and complex, especially when under acute time pressure. As one of Arcadis’s experts, Ben will be talking about what developments and innovations are needed to improve productivity, profit margins and the overall bottom line on construction projects. QFlow – Brittany Harris, Chief Executive Officer Brittany co-founded Qualis Flow in 2018 to work with construction teams to enable them to track and manage their social and environmental impact, and take a data driven approach to improving those areas. Their goals are to build an automated data collection/aggregation platform for construction projects, create the industry’s most comprehensive dataset on the socio-environmental impacts of construction activities, and utilize digital technology to eliminate the need for on-site environmental teams. Brittany will reveal more about their approach to data driven sustainability in construction and their work with the likes of HS2, Canary Wharf Group, Skanska and Sir Robert McAlpine. AECOM – David Philp, Impact Director David has been involved in delivering innovative digital change, BIM and digital asset management strategies across the globe from UK, Hong-Kong, Singapore, Australia and the Baltics. He was seconded in the UK Cabinet Office in 2011 as Head of BIM Implementation and has been a key contributor to the UK public sector BIM mandate (GCS 2011-2016) and continues to support this through his role as Impact Director at the Construction Innovation Hub. He was also seconded into the Scottish Future Trust (SFT) as Chair of the Scottish BIM Delivery Group. Additionally, David is Vice Chair of the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre as well as being Director for Digital Consulting, Strategy and Innovation at AECOM Europe. A Fellow of the ICE, RICS and CIOB he is a visiting professor at Middlesex University and honorary professor at Heriot Watt University. David is also a member of the BSI BIM Standards Committee. Digital Node – Rebecca De Cicco, Director Rebecca’s aim is to work hard to support the Construction Industry in the uptake and education surrounding Building Information Modelling (BIM), Digital Construction and Digital Engineering Methods. The roots of Digital Node lie in the UK but now operates globally to support a variety of differing clients in this ideology which has led to Rebecca winning construction awards in the UK and Australia.
